Not Tomorrow BUT Today

August 13, 2025

Tomorrow is not promised. How many times have you heard that? How many times have you said that? While we know this is true, we often fail to take action based on that statement. Our lives are full of busy moments.

Many times our “busyness” interferes with our thoughtfulness. We think I will send a card to my sick neighbor tomorrow. We think I will call that lonely aunt or uncle this weekend. I will go to the nursing home soon to see my long-time church member. Good thought BUT delayed action. Then another day or week passes and we don’t reach out as planned.

When we think of others – we need to reach out to others.

"My brothers and sisters, what good is it if people say they have faith but do nothing to show it?" James 2:14-17 ESV

"Generous persons will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed."  Proverbs 11:25 NLT

"So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith." Galatians 6:10 ESV
