Not One or the Other, but Both

At the Home of Martha and Mary - As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. Luke 10:38-39 New International Version (NIV)

There are Christians who serve in the forefront. Their talents are on display and they are noticed and admired by many. There are other Christians who serve God in the background. They serve diligently and sometimes their service is only noticed by a few.

Whether forefront or background, the service is valuable.  Mary and Martha each served God, but their gifts and their acts of worship and service were quite different. So, if you are a “Mary” servant God needs you. If you are a “Martha” servant, God needs you.

It’s about who you serve more than how you serve. Whether the act is great or small, we must answer the call.  Serve Him. Worship Him.  The kingdom needs workers and worshippers.  The kingdom needs you.
