How many times have you heard people talk about luck being on their side? Sometimes it’s because they receive money from an unexpected source. Perhaps it’s when they avoid an accident. It can even be when they are exempt from a job layoff. 

However, believers know it’s not luck that is on their side. Believers know that it’s Jesus on their side. It’s not the luck of the Irish, a four leaf clover or a rabbit’s foot that offers protection or provision. It’s the favor of the Lord. His grace and mercy provide the unexpected and sometimes unearned blessing.

Believers give praise to the one who catches us when we fall, hears us when we call, and often showers us with undeserved favor. Believers know that their benefits are not based on luck but on the love that Jesus has for his children. 

For the Lord God is our sun and our shield. He gives us grace and glory. The Lord will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right. Psalm 84:11 (New Living Translation)
