I'm Here, Do You See Me?

On Resurrection Day, commonly known as Easter, there are so many delightful things to see. From the array of children and adults adorned with beautiful spring attire, to the multitude of children carrying brightly colored Easter baskets, Easter is upon us to see and savor. We watch with great anticipation as trees regain their dense, green leaves and the flowers bloom with brilliant and vibrant colors--an awakening from their winter’s rest. We peer into the lives of families and friends as they enjoy culinary delights at home or in their favorite restaurants. Amidst all of the temporal beauty that takes place around us, Jesus asks the question, “Do you see Me?” As we celebrate Resurrection Day, Jesus reminds us to see Him. As churches prepare for the special play, and the children recite their Easter speeches, Christ says, “Do you see Me?” In all of the activities and sights of the day, we must remember to see Christ. Why are we able to see Christ? Because He Arose!!! How do we know? Rewind the biblical account of Jesus being mercilessly crucified and buried in a borrowed tomb. See Mary Magdalene standing outside by the tomb weeping. After being interrogated by two angels she turns around and sees Jesus standing there and did not know that it was the resurrected Jesus. He calls her by name, “Mary” and He proceeds to tell her to go to the disciples and she did exactly what He told her to do. (John 20:11-18) Jesus is saying, “I’m here, do you see Me?”...  Read More
