Purpose Is Resurrected
Many years ago Pastor Rick Warren took the world by storm with his best-selling book, The Purpose Driven Life. Many people came to know how much God loves them as a result of this great book.
I still recall the memorable way that the book began, “Before you were born, God planned this moment in your life. God longs for you to discover the life He created you to live here on earth, forever in eternity…” As we anticipate the celebration of the resurrection of our risen Savior, I urge you to consider that the ultimate purpose driven life is found only in Jesus Christ. God has crafted each of us with an innate desire for significance and meaning in life. Have you discovered your purpose in Him?
Take the time to reflect on the purpose driven life and ministry of Jesus Christ during this sacred season and all year long. Consider the agony of his sacrificial death, and all that we gained when Jesus purposely gave up His life for our redemption. No greater love than this: that a man would lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13.
Jesus died so our salvation could be possible. What needs to die in your life today so that His purpose is resurrected? An unsaved heart? If so, die to self and invite Jesus to come into your heart. Is it a bad attitude, downcast spirit, or low self-esteem? Perhaps you have found yourself with a mediocre thought life or unfruitful plans.
The good news is this, Christ is no longer dead and neither is your story. His purpose driven life, death and resurrection made our new life possible. Even if you wonder, what on earth am I here for? For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10. God created us for His purpose, and He alone can fully satisfy our longing for significance. Live on purpose…surrender your will to God’s will and allow Him to live through you so that His purpose is resurrected in your life, and He is glorified.
