Our Prayer for October 2015

By Tammara Hunt | Sheila B. Ministries, Inc., Spring & Summer 2015 Intern | Dallas |  October 15, 2015

Dear God,

We praise and thank You for all that You are, and all that You do for the ministry.  We thank You for Your provision, Your wisdom, and Your guidance.  Thank You for people and ministries like Dr. Sheila Bailey and Sheila B. Ministries, Inc., and organizations that serve others in Your Name.

Father, we recognize that October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and we offer a special prayer of protection and peace for the victims of domestic violence.  We pray that you would give strength and salvation to all victims of domestic violence and draw them unto Yourself.  We pray for abusers to break the cycle of violence that prevents them from right relationships with You and others.  We pray for churches and Christians to support shelters and other resources that care for domestic violence victims. Lord, You are their defender, and we  pray for the freedom, and spiritual, physical and emotional wholeness of every domestic violence victim.

God, we praise You for all You have accomplished through such an excellent ministry.  We praise You for the Speak Young Sista initiative that teaches girls communication skills and Christian character.  We praise You for the Project REBUILD and ENGAGE partnership that teaches parenting skills to female parolees.  We also praise You for Makeovers with Leftovers which empowers women to live on what’s left of life.  We pray your blessings upon the upcoming Wounded by God’s People class that Dr. Bailey will be teaching beginning in November.

God, we pray for all the donors and volunteers who share their time, talent and treasure with the ministry. We are grateful for each of them and their spirit of generosity, and pray that You use their service to draw them closer to You.  We pray for the Board of Directors, and staff that You meet their needs as they joyfully serve You.  Give them wisdom and direction as they move forward with ministry initiatives.

Father, we pray specifically for Dr. Sheila Bailey, that You will continue to give her good health, strength, wisdom and guidance.  Allow her sweet moments to enjoy her family as You protect their time together.  In Jesus Name, Amen.
