It’s Not About Shopping. It’s About Sharing!

December 3, 2023

It’s the Christmas season. A time for celebration, fellowship and yes- gift giving.  I want to encourage each of you to daily remember others during this season. For some it’s a season of joy. However, for some it’s a season of stress, loneliness and grief.

During this time of year showing you care can be the greatest gift of all to someone. Here are a few suggestions:
  1. Invite a single friend or neighbor to come and help you and/ or your family to decorate your Christmas tree.
  2. Offer to help a young couple by babysitting a few hours- so they can go Christmas shopping in peace (smiles).
  3. Take a senior citizen to view Christmas lights in the neighborhood.
  4.  Invite someone who has lost a spouse over for morning coffee or lunch. So many people are lonely during this time of the year. Encourage them to share memories of their loved one if they wish.
  5. Send 10 Christmas cards to people who you feel may be feeling forgotten during the season.
So be kind. Be generous. Be patient. Be godly. Being a blessing to others is a wonderful way to honor the birth of the Messiah.

Hebrews 13:16
“And do not neglect doing good and sharing, for with such sacrifices God is pleased” (NAS)
